A dilettante lab for cyanotype in the Gartenlaube der Kunst in Ottobrunn. The work developed after the previous work in progress project Ode an die Zeit, also in the Gartenlaube der Kunst, autumn 2017.

To the Gartenlaube project:
The project is taking place in the Gartenlaube der Kunst. This again is a gallery/studio project of Kerol Montagna. The Gartenlaube is situated in Ottobrunns public space. Supported by the Kunstverein Ottobrunn and the municipality Ottobrunn.
To our concept:
“Ode an die Zeit” ist eine fortlaufende Serie von Experimenten, in der über sechs Wochen verschiedene Zeitspannen eines Tages entwickelt werden sollen: Sonnenaufgang, Sonnenuntergang und die Spanne dazwischen. Mithilfe eines photografischen Prozesses, der Cyanotypie, entsteht auf Seidenstoff ein “Zeitbild”.
Die Gartenlaube als gläsernes Atelier erlaubt einen Einblick in den Arbeitsprozess.

Starting experiments in the Gartenlaube der Kunst in Ottobrunn. Gartenlaube changed into a darkroom.
First test in the garten. We created a little reconstruction of the Gartenlaube der Kunst to be able to find out the exposure times during the morning, midday and evening sunlight.
The experiment results from the tests in the reconstructed house. Shown in the Gartenlaube der Kunst itself.

Color changing experiments on different fabrics: silk and Batist.
We will work furthermore on the silk fabric and with the aubergine-like color.
This color appears when you bathe the exposed (blue) cyanotype in diluted nitric acid, water the fabric for a while, then bleach it in Soda, water it again for about 10 min, and final step is to bathe the fabric in gallic acid.
To be seen in the Gartenlaube der Kunst Denkmalplatz 1 in Ottobrunn.
